“Ministry of Justice” sentenced 145 traffic cases in 7 months
A recent statistics issued by the Ministry of Justice for traffic courts during the first seven months of 2024, revealed that the number of traffic cases under consideration reached 12,045 cases.
The statistics obtained by Al-Qabas showed that the number of imprisonment sentences in traffic cases reached 145 sentences, the most of which were in Hawalli Governorate with 30 sentences; followed by Farwaniya with 29 sentences; Jahra with 26 cases; Ahmadi and the Capital with 22 cases and; the least in Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 13 sentences.
The Ministry pointed out that the number of deaths in traffic accidents according to cases reached 119 cases, most of which were in Ahmadi with 37 cases; Jahra with 33 cases; Farwaniya with 19 cases; Hawalli with 12 cases; the Capital with 10 cases and; Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 8 cases.
It was explained by the Ministry that the number of leave withdrawal rulings reached 154 cases, and the governorates with the highest number were, Hawalli with a total of 46 cases; followed by the Capital with 26 cases; Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 24 cases; Ahmadi with 18 cases and; the least was Jahra with 14 cases.
On the monetary front, the statistics showed that the total fines in traffic cases amounted to 203 thousand dinars.
