Ministry of Islamic Affairs organizes Hajj trip for 20 recovering addicts with Zakat House support

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced that its Rehabilitation and Evaluation Department successfully organized a Hajj pilgrimage for 20 male and female individuals recovering from addiction, with the generous support and funding of the Kuwait Zakat House. This initiative reflects a compassionate approach to rehabilitation by offering spiritual enrichment as part of the recovery journey.

In a press release issued Tuesday, the ministry revealed that the program included a series of religious lectures, awareness sessions, and meetings with preachers. These events were designed to strengthen the faith and morale of participants, while reinforcing the spiritual values essential for sustaining recovery and resisting relapse, reports Al-Rai daily.

A ministry official highlighted that this pilgrimage is the culmination of the participants’ dedication and commitment to an intensive rehabilitation program. She noted the importance of organizing regular Hajj and Umrah trips as motivational incentives, selecting participants based on their demonstrated perseverance in overcoming addiction.

The official further stressed the ministry’s commitment to integrating recovering individuals into religious and spiritual seasons of devotion. Such efforts, she said, play a crucial role in supporting long-term recovery, restoring self-worth, and encouraging successful reintegration into society.
