Ministry of Interior urges caution amid ongoing dust storms and strong winds

The Ministry of Interior has issued a public advisory urging all citizens and residents to remain cautious and vigilant due to the country being affected by active to occasionally strong northwesterly winds, with speeds exceeding 60 km/h.

According to the Meteorological Department, these winds are stirring up dust and significantly reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters, with visibility potentially dropping to zero in some exposed areas.

In a statement, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media emphasized the importance of closely following official weather warnings and not hesitating to contact the emergency hotline (112) in the event of any emergency.

The Ministry also advised motorists to use hazard lights only when necessary for alerts, maintain a safe driving distance, and reduce speed during periods of low visibility.

Drivers are reminded not to use mobile phones while driving, to keep windows closed, activate air recirculation systems, avoid driving near sand accumulations, and switch to alternative routes when visibility is severely limited.
