Ministry of Interior official inspects security for Kuwait-Iraq match
Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf stressed the need for a warm welcome, strict adherence to security plans, and smooth event management to boost Kuwait’s reputation in hosting major sports events.
• Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf expressed appreciation for the tireless efforts of the security personnel and the preparations made by the security services, as well as the supporting and auxiliary authorities for the Kuwait-Iraq World Cup qualifier.
Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, conducted a field visit to Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium with several field security leaders to review preparations for the Kuwait-Iraq World Cup qualifier, according to Al Rai newspaper.
General Al-Nawaf relayed greetings and directives from Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Interior and emphasized the importance of warmly welcoming fans, adhering to security and organizational plans, and ensuring a smooth and safe event to enhance Kuwait’s reputation in hosting major sports events.
The team received a detailed explanation of the security plan to be implemented on the ground, including the duties assigned to each unit involved in securing the match, their specific roles, and the coordination mechanisms with all relevant state bodies.
