Ministry of Health to launch 3-day blood donation drive in Mosques

The campaign will begin next Wednesday at the Saud Abdulaziz Al-Rashid Mosque in Adailiya, continue on Thursday at the Badriya Nasser Al-Jeaan Mosque in Salmiya, and conclude on Friday at the Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Othman and Munira Ibrahim Al-Jalal Mosques.

The Ministry of Health’s campaign reflects the spirit of holy month of Ramadan in its purest form while underscoring the ministry’s essential role in safeguarding public health.

The Ministry of Healths Blood Transfusion Services Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, will launch a three-day blood donation campaign in several mosques, running from after Tarawih prayers until just before Qiyam prayers, Al Rai newspaper reported.

The ministry said in a press release that the campaign will begin next Wednesday at the Saud Abdulaziz Al-Rashid Mosque in Adailiya, continue on Thursday at the Badriya Nasser Al-Jeaan Mosque in Salmiya, and conclude on Friday at the Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Othman and Munira Ibrahim Al-Jalal Mosques.

It explained that this campaign aligns with the principles of shared social responsibility and strengthens coordination between state institutions. It aims to emphasize the virtue of blood donation, its significance during this holy month, and its role in supporting the national strategic blood reserve to ensure readiness and meet the ongoing needs of the healthcare sector.

The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of giving, promoting noble human values, and enhancing cooperation between state institutions and society. The initiative also reflects the spirit of Ramadan in its purest form while underscoring the ministry’s essential role in safeguarding public health.
