The move to refer forged certificates to the Public Prosecution will ensure the integrity and credibility of the educational system, uphold honesty and justice, and address threats to its integrity.

  • The Ministry of Education has referred a number of forged medical certificates, including those belonging to employees of the ministry, to the judicial authorities after confirming their inaccuracies.

  • The ministry has implemented an electronic program to save transaction data, facilitating the review and verification process of certificates and their validity.

The Ministry of Education has referred a third batch of forged certificates to the Public Prosecution, according to Al Qabas newspaper.

The ministry explained that this action is part of a series of measures by Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, to ensure the integrity and credibility of the educational system, uphold honesty and justice, and address threats to its integrity.

The ministry announced that Al-Adwani approved the investigation committee’s recommendations regarding high school certificates issued by Arab countries and certified by the General Administration of Private Education. This includes referring the matter to the Public Prosecution, withdrawing the equivalency, and instructing relevant authorities to correct the procedures.

The ministry explained that, since 2005, the sector responsible for certifying secondary school certificates from within and outside Kuwait has formed three specialized teams to review these certificates under the minister’s directives and direct oversight.

The sector has implemented rigorous procedures to ensure certificate validity, including obtaining prior approval from the Private Education Department before students begin studying abroad. This process requires a study sequence for intermediate and secondary stages over three consecutive years in the same specialization ‘literary or scientific’, with exceptions for children of diplomatic missions.

In addition to coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to verify the validity of certificates in the issuing country, certificates are only approved if they are from recognized schools and authenticated by the Embassy of Kuwait.

An electronic program has also been implemented to save transaction data, facilitating the review and verification process of certificates and their validity.

In a related development, the Ministry of Education has referred a number of forged medical certificates, including those belonging to employees of the ministry, to the judicial authorities after confirming their inaccuracies.

The Ministry of Education emphasized that Al-Adwani instructed relevant departments to ensure the accuracy of medical certificates submitted by employees.

He stressed the need to enforce administrative systems and regulations, impose oversight, control work procedures, and uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. This is aimed at maintaining work quality and productivity, and identifying any violations or infractions in the ministry’s systems and regulations.
