The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) citing statistics released today said, gold and silver represented the largest share of the inspected materials — 18,063,000 grams of gold, with fees totaling approximately 909,000 dinars, while 31,446,000 grams of silver were tested, generating fees of about 314,000 dinars. The Ministry noted that most of the gold tested was non-plated, followed by gold plated with valuable stones at 11 percent, and diamond-plated gold at 4 percent.

Beyond testing, the Ministry reported that other services related to parcels, certificates, and trade releases collected fees totaling 184,000 dinars. Trade release fees accounted for 75,000 dinars across approximately 7,599 transactions.

Additional services included inspection of 13,945 pieces of plated jewelry, generating 1,394 dinars, and 9,540 prayer beads, with fees totaling 4,700 dinars.

The statistics highlight the ongoing oversight and regulation of Kuwait’s precious metals market, ensuring authenticity, quality, and compliance with trade standards.
