Ministry committed to advance social care services: Al-Huwailah
The Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Family Affairs, and Childhood, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs emphasized the new buildings’ role in providing comprehensive services to juvenile delinquents.

“The new juvenile complex building in the Sulaibiya area is a key step towards improving the quality of life for juvenile offenders and reintegrating them into society effectively and constructively,” said Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Family Affairs, and Childhood, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs.
Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Family Affairs, and Childhood, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, announced on Friday that the ministry remains committed to advancing social care services, the Al Rai newspaper reported.
Al-Huwailah, during an inspection tour of the new juvenile complex building in the Sulaibiya area, stated to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this complex represents an important step towards improving the quality of life for juvenile offenders and reintegrating them into society effectively and constructively.
She emphasized the ministry’s commitment to providing all necessary care and support to residents of the social care sector, highlighting the significance of the new buildings in offering comprehensive services to juvenile delinquents.
She praised the positive impact of these new buildings on juvenile delinquents, emphasizing that the advanced facilities contribute to modifying their behavior and enhancing their constructive hobbies.
She stressed that providing a supportive and safe environment greatly contributes to developing their sense of citizenship and religious awareness, which helps in fostering their well-rounded development during their stay in the complex.
The tour encompassed sections of the complex equipped with the latest technologies and facilities. This included the Vocational Education and Training Department, featuring specialized workshops aimed at teaching juveniles professional skills such as carpentry, blacksmithing, and sewing, thus preparing them for the future labor market.
Additionally, the tour covered the Psychological and Social Support Department, which houses a team of specialists providing support and guidance sessions to help juveniles overcome psychological and social challenges they encounter.
The minister also toured recreational and sports facilities, including playgrounds and equipped halls where children can engage in physical and recreational activities, thereby enhancing their physical and psychological health. Additionally, she visited the library, which offers a wide range of books and educational materials aimed at encouraging children to read and develop their intellectual and cultural skills.
During the tour, Minister Al-Huwailah was accompanied by Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Welfare Sector.
