Minister of Interior revokes nationalities of 850 individuals

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, emphasized that the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality is diligently fulfilling its duties. He announced the withdrawal of 850 nationalities based on thorough decisions, evidence, and proof, according to Q8 Press.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef confirmed, “Those whose nationalities were revoked did not object to the committee’s decisions because they were supported by evidence and indications.”

Regarding future batches of citizenship withdrawals, Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef stated, “We have not finished this file yet, and we are still at the beginning,” emphasizing that withdrawals will continue after thorough examination and verification.

He pointed out that the hotline allocated by the Ministry of Interior for reporting forgers and dual nationals continues to receive an increasing number of reports, which are handled, verified, and scrutinized with complete neutrality and objectivity.

Regarding the deportation of visit visa violators and their sponsors, Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef explained that the Ministry of Interior will not be lenient with anyone who violates visa conditions. Those caught violating will be punished, along with their sponsors, and will face the consequences of breaking the law.

He pointed out that campaigns to arrest residency violators are ongoing, with 7,000 to 8,000 violating expatriates being deported each month. He noted that these campaigns aim to rid the country of violators and will continue until the target set by the Ministry of Interior is reached. The goal is to deport all violators before the campaigns conclude.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef revealed that new deterrent laws regarding money laundering will be approved soon. He emphasized that there is ongoing coordination between the concerned authorities to recover the country’s looted funds abroad and hold those responsible accountable.

Regarding the seizure of violating vehicles, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef explained that the new traffic law’s provisions will apply to cars “involved in reckless or negligent behavior that endangers lives.” This includes non-luxury and lower-priced vehicles, while high-priced cars will not be seized. “For example, a vehicle worth 40,000 or 50,000 dinars will be sold at a state auction rather than being seized.”

Regarding the referral of leaders to retirement, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef said, “We have not officially requested any leader in the Ministries of Defense or Interior who has completed 30 years of service to submit a mandatory retirement request.” He noted that any leader who fails to perform their duties effectively and does not achieve required accomplishments will be referred to retirement.
