Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, is set to make improvements in the educational system of Kuwait. In recent days, Dr. Al-Adwani has met with all the assistant undersecretaries responsible for various sectors within the education ministry. These meetings have been described as positive and introductory in nature, reported Al-Anba Daily.
Dr. Al-Adwani has requested each sector undersecretary to present their plans for the development of their respective areas of work. The plans are expected to be submitted to the minister on Sunday. The minister has asked for both long-term plans covering the next four years and short-term plans. It has been made clear that the appointed agents will be closely scrutinized to ensure they implement their plans as presented.
Educational sources have indicated that the agents have been working diligently to prepare their plans, with completion expected by Wednesday and readiness by Thursday. In related news, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education, Hessa Al-Mutawa, has announced that the Ministry of Education will be opening learner care centers in educational areas during the upcoming second semester.
This announcement was made during a meeting of the Council of General Directors, attended by directors and principals of educational districts. Several important educational issues were discussed during the meeting, including school hour timings during the month of Ramadan and amendments to the fifth-grade exams.
Furthermore, proposals for the development of the coordination department were also explored, and a working group will be formed to address supervisory jobs within the sector. The Ministry of Education has also extended the registration period for newcomers in kindergartens until May 30, 2024. Registration can be completed through the ministry’s official website.
