“Minister Al-Mishaan” announces beginning of radical road maintenance in Subhan area

The Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan, announced the start of radical road maintenance works in the Subhan area. This is part of the new maintenance contracts for highways and internal roads, which include 18 major practices across various regions in the six governorates of Kuwait.

Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan emphasized in a press statement today, Friday, 20 December, the importance of completing all maintenance work promptly while ensuring the required quality and efficiency. She highlighted the need to adhere to the approved technical specifications along with the pledged timetable.

Moreover, Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan stated that her directives to initiate radical road maintenance work are in line with the recommendations of the Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah. This step reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining and repairing the country’s infrastructure.

The road maintenance in the Subhan area will begin with the most affected areas before moving to less affected ones, with supervision, oversight, and follow-up on the progress of the work.

Teams from the Ministry of Public Works will monitor the implementation of the maintenance efforts. Additionally, a committee has been formed to select supervising engineers and conduct tests to ensure their capability in managing the projects effectively.

Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan emphasized the importance of coordination to address outstanding issues related to road maintenance. She noted that the road maintenance and repair file is a top priority for the political leadership.

Furthermore, Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan expressed her appreciation for the very eminent directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. She highlighted their support for implementing road maintenance projects as a key step toward achieving an advanced infrastructure pillar within the vision of “New Kuwait 2035”.

Whereas, Engineer Noura Al-Mutairi from the Road Engineering Maintenance Sector in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate’s Second Zone, stated that the ongoing maintenance involves radical road repairs. She explained that deep treatments have been applied to the asphalt as part of the process.

Al-Mutairi urged residents of the area to cooperate with the concerned authorities to ensure that the work is completed on time, especially as some roads will be temporarily closed during the maintenance process.
