Minister Al-Huwailah calls for stronger oversight to ensure transparency in cooperatives
The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs emphasized the need to improve performance efficiency, sustain cooperative work, and safeguard shareholders’ funds.

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, emphasized the need to enhance oversight and supervision of cooperatives to ensure transparency, improve performance efficiency, sustain cooperative work, and safeguard shareholders’ funds, according to Al Rai newspaper.
This statement was made during Huwailah’s meeting with more than thirty cooperative observers, including members of inspection committees, heads of control and inspection departments, and sector and ministry undersecretaries. The meeting addressed key instructions to enhance control and supervision mechanisms.
Al-Huwailah stated that the meeting featured the presentation of a new investigation mechanism designed to protect all parties while ensuring confidentiality and transparency in addressing violations. She emphasized the importance of adhering to legal and administrative standards to enhance performance and achieve significant progress in cooperative supervision.
She also highlighted the ministry’s commitment to improving the efficiency of cooperative observers by engaging them in ongoing training workshops, which aim to elevate work quality while promoting transparency and accountability in the cooperative sector.
She stressed the need to integrate efforts among various regulatory authorities to ensure the sustainability of cooperative work, noting that the ministry is working diligently to achieve the highest quality standards in serving shareholders and supporting the cooperative sector, in line with the country’s development vision.
