Mina Abdullah Refinery achieves top spot in global risk management

According to a field survey by the American risk management and insurance firm Marsh, the Mina Abdullah Refinery, a subsidiary of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), has been ranked first in the world for risk management engineering, as reported by Al Jarida newspaper.

Wadha Al-Khatib, CEO of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company, stated to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday that the field survey covered 230 major oil refineries worldwide. She expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting that it reflects the company’s commitment to the highest standards of operational safety.

Al-Khatib emphasized the company’s dedication to applying the latest technologies and best practices in safety and reliability. She noted that the refinery topped the list of international refining companies with a historical score of 102.6 points in the survey, which specializes in measuring and comparing risk engineering quality.

She explained that the field survey was conducted by a coalition of international insurance companies led by the American firm Marsh. She noted that this ‘unprecedented’ result reflects the continuous efforts of the dedicated teams at the refinery, who work with commitment and unity.

She added that the advanced training and development programs offered by the company have significantly contributed to these achievements, enhancing the company’s global reputation with important strategic advantages.

She also pointed out that the recognition of the Mina Abdullah and Al-Ahmadi Port refineries as world leaders in risk engineering demonstrates the company’s commitment to the highest standards of safety and excellence, solidifying its position as a reliable partner in the global oil and gas industry.

Al-Khatib praised the sincere efforts of all KNPC employees, noting that this achievement is not only a milestone for the company but also a national accomplishment that reflects the progress made by the State of Kuwait in various fields.
