MEW finalizes new organizational structure, promotes resource efficiency

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has completed the preparation of a new organizational structure for its various sectors. The draft is set to be reviewed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry before being submitted for final approval by Minister Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem and forwarded to the Civil Service Bureau.

According to the sources, the new structure aims to merge departments with overlapping roles and responsibilities to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and better align work processes with sector-specific needs, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Meanwhile, the ministry is also studying the implementation of a new shift work system for employees across its sectors. Once finalized, the ministry will coordinate with the Civil Service Commission to seek the necessary approvals.

On another note, the national electricity load index recorded a decline yesterday, reaching 15,300 megawatts, due to a drop in temperatures. Despite the reduced demand, the ministry continues to promote energy and water conservation.

Engineer Fatima Hayat, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity and Water, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to spreading awareness about responsible consumption.

She highlighted the role of the ministry’s “Wafer” awareness pavilion, currently located at Khairan Mall near Entrance No. 2, in educating the public on wasteful consumption practices and offering practical advice on conservation.

Hayat encouraged all citizens and residents to visit the pavilion to learn simple and effective ways to reduce energy and water use without compromising comfort or service quality. She emphasized that rationalization leads to optimal consumption, helping both consumers and the country by easing the strain on national resources.
