Met warns of dust storms and extreme heat; conditions to improve tomorrow evening

Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, said today that Kuwait continues to experience dust-raising northwesterly winds exceeding 60 kilometers per hour, resulting in reduced horizontal visibility —especially in open areas.

However, he noted that weather conditions are expected to stabilize and improve starting Tuesday evening.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali explained that the current weather disturbance is due to the country being affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, which is accompanied by an extremely hot and dry air mass.

This system has brought moderate to brisk winds that have stirred up dust storms and caused sea waves to reach heights of up to six feet at times.
