‘MENA UK Study Tour 2025’ empowering educators with innovative insights
Dr. Anis Ahmad, the Director and Principal of the Salmiya Indian Model School, Kuwait, who represented his school at the MENA UK Study Tour 2025 in London, said that it was a great privilege and honour to be there. With the theme “Leading in the Digital Age,” this conference provided an exceptional learning journey that left a lasting impact on all participants.
A total of thirty-five delegates from North Africa and the Middle East, including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, were selected to participate in this Study Tour.
Ms. Kathleen O’ Hare of the British Council, U.K., served as the Program Director, and team leaders from all the participating countries facilitated the entire tour.
The tour provided a transformative experience, offering an in-depth exploration of how AI can be seamlessly integrated into education, revolutionizing teaching and learning methods.
Dr. Ahmad stated that visiting esteemed institutions like The Perse Cambridge School and Avanti School, offered invaluable insights into their approaches to AI, curriculum design, and teacher retention strategies. The visionary leadership of these schools was both inspiring and enlightening, providing innovative methods that Kuwait is we are eager to implement at our school in Kuwait.
Furthermore, Dr. Ahmad expressed that he was honored to participate in a panel discussion on “Recruitment and Retention – The Challenges,” where they tackled some of the most pressing issues in the education sector. Engaging with fellow educators, they shared strategies and solutions aimed at retaining skilled teachers while fostering their professional growth.
Dr. Ahmad shared that the experience at Homerton College, Hills Road Cambridge, gave the delegates a firsthand look at the academic system in place. The interaction with international students was enriching, and Professor Mark Winterbottom, along with his team, guided the delegates on a tour of the campus.
Interestingly, Dr. Ahmad mentioned that the candlelight dinner at Magdalene College, Cambridge, was a unique experience that added a royal touch to the tour. It was truly amazing. Before dinner, all the delegates had the opportunity to explore the area on foot, soaking in the historic surroundings.
Dr. Ahmad categorically stated that ‘A special note of gratitude goes to the British Council, the sponsor of this enriching program. Their commitment to promoting educational excellence was evident throughout the tour.
Moreover, Dr. Ahmad also sincerely thanked Ms. Kathleen O’Hare, the Program Director, for her guidance and support, which made the experience both smooth and insightful. He said he was also deeply grateful to Ms. Suchitra Sen, the Kuwait Delegation Leader representing the British Council Kuwait, for her invaluable leadership and coordination during the tour.
