‘Medical graduates are a pillar of national healthcare development’

Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Thamer Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, congratulated 61 Kuwaiti students graduating from the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), emphasizing their vital role in strengthening Kuwait’s healthcare sector.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the graduation ceremony, Ambassador Al-Jaber affirmed that Kuwait is counting on this new generation of doctors to actively contribute to the development and modernization of the national health system.
“They are the future generation, the makers of the present, and the hope of the nation,” he said, urging the graduates to pursue excellence in their humanitarian mission to serve the people and elevate Kuwait’s global standing.
He noted that the celebration marks the graduates’ first steps into a noble and humanitarian profession, one that demands both dedication and compassion.
“We are confident in the sense of responsibility and commitment held by Kuwait’s youth,” he added, while also expressing appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its continued support of Kuwaiti students and to AGU President Dr. Saad Al-Fahid for fostering a high-quality academic environment.
Ambassador Al-Jaber also commended the efforts of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Bahrain, led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Daghim, for their consistent support in overseeing students’ academic and social wellbeing.
For his part, Dr. Al-Daghim congratulated the graduates, praising their strong academic performance and collaboration with AGU to maintain a conducive learning environment.
The graduation ceremony, held on Sunday, concluded with the distribution of certificates in the presence of prominent officials and families. Notably, student Rashid Al-Asousi ranked second in his class.
The dignitaries who attended the event are Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC); Sheikh Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain’s Supreme Council of Health; Dr. Mohammed Juma, Bahraini Minister of Education; Lamia Al-Mulhim, Acting Undersecretary of Kuwait’s Ministry of Higher Education and parents of students and faculty members from the university.
The event highlighted the deep ties between Kuwait and Bahrain in the field of education and reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to empowering future healthcare leaders.
