MCI says strategic food stockpile secure; normal operation of supply chains

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce, confirmed the stability and sufficiency of Kuwait’s strategic food stockpile amid ongoing regional developments.
Speaking to Kuwait TV’s Al-Akhbar channel, Al-Ansari stated that emergency teams conducted inspections today as part of the country’s strategic food security plan. “Our visits to warehouses of private sector companies confirmed that basic food commodities are available in secure quantities,” he said.
He added that coordination is ongoing with the Union of Cooperative Societies to assess inventory levels in cooperative stores. “We have verified that food supplies are available, and supply chains are functioning normally,” Al-Ansari reassured.
Highlighting the government’s proactive approach, Al-Ansari noted that joint meetings are being held with various agencies, including the Kuwait Flour Mills Company and the Federation of Cooperatives. “Based on lessons learned from past crises, we are working on coordinated solutions to ensure that consumers experience no disruptions,” he emphasized.
