MCI launches electronic approvals with PAFN to drive digital transformation
The initiative aligns with Kuwait’s vision to modernize government services and advance comprehensive digital transformation, particularly in sensitive sectors such as the food industry, where rapid monitoring and strict safety standards are essential to protect consumers and support a healthier business environment

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the activation of an electronic approval-exchange system with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, covering 85 activities under the Authority’s supervision.
The ministry explained that the move supports its broader plan to reduce reliance on paper transactions and streamline documentation for business owners.
The new system is expected to shorten processing times, improve procedural quality, and ease pressure on both applicants and regulatory bodies, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the ministry, the electronic link with the Food Authority represents a significant step toward integrating government systems by ensuring faster and more accurate data transfer.
It will also enhance regulatory coordination between the two entities, raise the efficiency of oversight mechanisms, standardize procedures, increase transparency, and reduce administrative delays.
The ministry stressed that the initiative aligns with Kuwait’s vision to modernize government services and advance comprehensive digital transformation, particularly in sensitive sectors such as the food industry, where rapid monitoring and strict safety standards are essential to protect consumers and support a healthier business environment.
The ministry added that the activation of electronic approvals will directly benefit business owners by reducing the number of steps required to complete transactions, improving service quality by minimizing errors associated with paper processes, and accelerating the issuance of licenses and approvals for commercial and food-related activities.
