MCI intensifies livestock market inspections ahead of Eid al-Adha

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has ramped up its inspection campaigns across livestock markets nationwide in preparation for Eid al-Adha. These inspections aim to monitor prices, maintain their stability, and ensure a smooth and sufficient supply of sacrificial animals for consumers. The move comes amid growing demand during the festive season, and the ministry is determined to maintain market balance and affordability.

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, stated that the inspections are coordinated with sheep importers to secure ample livestock supplies, stabilize the market, and drive down prices for consumers. The ministry aims to ensure that markets are fully prepared to meet public needs during this important religious occasion, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Ansari highlighted that field teams are conducting daily surveys to track price changes and prevent any unjustified hikes. These efforts will continue throughout the Eid season to safeguard consumers from exploitation and to support orderly market operations.

The Ministry is also actively responding to consumer feedback and encourages the public to report any violations through official channels. These measures are part of a broader strategy to strengthen market oversight, protect consumer rights, and ensure reliable access to essential goods during peak demand periods.
