MCAST delegation signs two MoUs with Kuwaiti universities

Initiative underscores the strong educational and diplomatic ties between Malta and Kuwait and highlights a mutual commitment to advancing academic cooperation and cultural exchange

A delegation from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), led by Principal Mr. Stephen Vella, visited Kuwait on May 28 and 29 to sign two Memoranda of Understanding with esteemed higher education institutions — The Arab Open University and the Kuwait College of Science and Technology in the Doha District.

The agreements aim to foster academic collaboration through initiatives such as student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, and co-developed academic programs.

The diplomatic efforts that led to these agreements were facilitated by the Ambassador of Malta to the State of Kuwait, H.E. Professor Dr. George A. Said-Zammit, The Maltese envoy said, “The signing of these agreements between MCAST and two respected Kuwaiti universities is yet another testament to the longstanding friendship between Malta and Kuwait.

“Today, over one hundred Kuwaiti students are pursuing their studies at the University of Malta. These new agreements will pave the way for broader opportunities for both Maltese and Kuwaiti students and educators to share knowledge and expertise across various disciplines, including engineering, business, and the maritime sector,” he added.

For his part, Mr. Stephen Vella expressed his pride in this milestone, noting that it marks a new chapter in the college’s journey since its establishment in 2001.

MCAST currently comprises seven institutes covering diverse academic areas, including Creative Arts, Engineering and Transport, Community Services, and Business Management and Commerce.
