MC gives nod for reorganization of Al-Mubarakiya suburb

The Technical Committee of the Municipal Council has approved the reorganization of a section of Al-Mubarakiya suburb, formerly known as Block 15.

The decision came during a meeting chaired by Engineer Munira Al-Amir, where the committee endorsed a letter from Kuwait Municipality concerning proposed amendments to the tables attached to the building regulations, reports Al-Rai daily.

The committee also agreed to keep the final version of the proposed amendment to Table 2—related to requirements and specifications for investment housing buildings inside and outside Kuwait City—on its agenda for further discussion.

Additionally, the committee referred a request from property owners in the Sharq area overlooking Shuhada Street to the executive authority of the Kuwait Municipality. The request seeks to change the land use from investment to commercial, with a proposed increase of 520 percent.
