Massive drug bust, Kuwait foils smuggling of over 270,000 Lyrica pills

Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs, in coordination with the General Department for Drug Control, has thwarted a major drug smuggling attempt involving a shipment of over 271,000 suspected Lyrica capsules.
In an official statement, the Customs Department revealed acting on a tip-off about the suspicious shipment, which was labelled as personal baggage, coming from Hong Kong, the airport customs officers conducted detailed investigations and intensified inspection procedures, reports Al-Rai daily.
Upon checking the suspect baggage, authorities uncovered 271,400 capsules carefully concealed in the shipment. The pills are suspected to contain Lyrica, a controlled psychotropic substance banned under Kuwaiti law.
The confiscated pills have been handed over to the relevant authorities to carry out the necessary legal and technical processes.
