Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh secure India’s second medal at Paris 2024 Olympics

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh secured India’s second medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics by triumphing over South Korea in the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal playoff. They earned a historic bronze by decisively defeating South Korea’s Lee Wonoho and Oh Yeh Jin with a score of 16-10 on Day 4 of the games, according to Indian news channel NDTV.

India’s medal tally has now risen to two, both from shooting. Bhaker thus became the first athlete in the history of independent India to win two medals in a single Olympic edition, having also won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol individual event.

Indian shooters are currently competing in the men’s and women’s trap qualification rounds. In rowing, Balraj Panwar will aim to advance to the men’s singles sculls semifinals. The Indian men’s hockey team will face Ireland after their thrilling draw against Argentina in Pool B. Additionally, three Indian boxers—Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, and Preeti Pawar—will also be in action, as reported by the Indian news channel.
