Manila praises Kuwait as PAM showcases worker welfare programs, shelter services

The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Eng. Rabab Al-Osaimi, welcomed the Philippine Minister of Migrant Workers, Hans Leo Javier Cacdac, and his accompanying delegation during their visit to the shelter for expatriate workers in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.

In a statement, the Authority said the purpose of the visit was to review the center’s procedures for receiving expatriate workers, understand the role of government agencies in ensuring a safe environment, and assess the integrated care provided to residents.

The visit also included a detailed presentation of the service system, which offers health care, psychological support, and legal assistance, reports Al-Rai daily.

The delegation was provided with all relevant data and statistics regarding the number of residents and the operational procedures followed by those in charge of the shelter.

During the tour, Minister Cacdac was briefed on the available care and rehabilitation programs. He expressed his appreciation for Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen social protection, safeguard workers’ rights, and enhance cooperation between Kuwait and the Philippines on all matters related to migrant worker welfare.

The delegation also conducted an extensive tour of the shelter’s facilities, noting that the center serves as an advanced model within the GCC and the wider region—both in terms of its capacity and the quality of the humanitarian services it provides.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Philippine Minister extended his gratitude to the Authority’s leadership and staff for their continued efforts to improve service quality within the center.

He emphasized that these efforts reflect Kuwait’s commitment to protecting labor rights and promoting a humane, safe, and supportive work environment.
