Mandatory use of Arabic language in purchase invoices by commercial establishments
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stressed the need for shop owners, companies and commercial establishments to use the Arabic language in the invoices issued by them in all their dealings.
The Ministry also added clarifying that they may use one or more other languages in addition to the Arabic language.
Emphasising further, The Ministry stressed that the purchase invoice is the document that proves that you have purchased a specific product or service from companies and shops, and this documentation is very important to preserve your rights in case you need to prove the purchase process when future problems arise.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry suggested that while issuing an invoice for the purchase of goods or services, it must include several basic data, namely: the name, address, telephone number and date of the invoice, the type of goods or service and its essential description, the unit of sale, the quantity of the goods or the number of units sold, the condition of the goods if used, the price of the goods or the service fee in local currency, the delivery date, the signature or seal of the supplier or his legal representative, the serial number of the goods and the parts they contain.
