Major road maintenance underway on Fourth Ring Road opposite Shuwaikh

The Ministry of Public Works is carrying out extensive maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road, opposite the Shuwaikh area, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development initiatives.

Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to closely supervise major road projects to ensure they meet the highest quality and safety standards, while accelerating completion in line with Kuwait’s broader infrastructure development goals.

Teams from the ministry were present on-site today to review the latest progress of the ongoing radical maintenance work. The current phase includes the laying of a Type 1 asphalt layer, implemented under the new maintenance contracts designed to enhance the durability and performance of the roadway, reports Al-Rai daily.

Dr. Al-Mashaan highlighted that supervisory teams are continuously monitoring project timelines and adherence to approved technical specifications.

She noted that these measures are crucial to ensuring the work is completed efficiently and safely for all road users.

Dr. Al-Mashaan reiterated that the ministry is dedicated to improving the overall efficiency of the road network, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.

She also pointed out that systematic monitoring and evaluation at each stage of the maintenance work reflect the ministry’s proactive approach to infrastructure management, aiming to deliver lasting improvements for commuters.

According to Dr. Al-Mashaan, these efforts are part of a broader strategy to modernize Kuwait’s road network, ensuring it meets international standards and supports the country’s urban development plans.

The Fourth Ring Road project is one of several major maintenance initiatives underway, underscoring the ministry’s focus on providing sustainable, high-quality transportation infrastructure.

In addition to road resurfacing, the ministry is implementing complementary measures such as traffic flow optimization and enhanced road safety features, ensuring a comprehensive approach to infrastructure improvement.
