LPG cylinder rigging and counterfeiting banned in Kuwait

The General Fire Force and Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) have agreed to ban the import and trade of non-compliant LPG cylinder rigs and extensions.

In a collaborative effort to enhance public safety, the General Fire Force and Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) have implemented a ban on the import and trade of non-compliant liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder rigs and extensions.

This initiative, formulated in coordination with the General Customs Department, aims to mitigate risks associated with counterfeit gas accessories.

According to reports by Q8-Press, the decision follows a meeting between key representatives, including Major General Khalid Abdullah Fahd, Head of the Fire Force, and Captain Yousef Al-Saqr, KOTC Executive Vice President for Fleet Operations.

Furthermore, the Fire Force and KOTC are launching a joint public awareness campaign to educate the public about the hazards of counterfeit gas accessories. These counterfeit parts can malfunction, leading to serious incidents such as gas leaks, explosions, and fires.
