Low-pressure system brings thunderstorms; light rain expected Sunday morning

Astronomical researcher Adel Yousef Al-Marzouq said the region is currently under the influence of a deep low-pressure system centered over the middle of the Arabian Peninsula, following the extension of a Sudanese low-pressure system into the area.

He explained that the interaction of these systems has formed an air front accompanied by easterly to southeasterly winds, ranging from light to moderate speeds, occasionally becoming more active.

Al-Marzouq noted that this atmospheric activity is expected to lead to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, which may bring light thunderstorms during the morning hours on Sunday, particularly shortly after sunrise, reports Al-Rai daily.

He added that rainfall amounts are expected to remain light, ranging between 1 to 2 millimeters, with localized and brief precipitation episodes.

The conditions are part of a broader unstable weather pattern affecting the region, driven by shifting low-pressure systems and variable wind activity.
