Liquor merchant seized with 6,828 bottles of imported liquor
The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Narcotics Control, have taken into custody an imported liquor dealer and seized from him 569 cartons of imported alcohol (6,828 bottles), reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, the security authorities set up a trap for the man following a tip-off from a police agent.
When the man was confronted with what was seized from his possession, he admitted that he had two truckloads of the contraband parked in the Hawalli area, which he used as storage and from where the contraband was seized.
The sources said the market value of the contraband is estimated at more than half a million Kuwaiti dinars.
The suspect and the seized items have been referred to the competent authority to take all necessary legal measures against him.
