Lebanese President thanks Kuwait for continued support in times of crisis

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed heartfelt gratitude to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, the Kuwaiti government, and people for their steadfast support of Lebanon during difficult times.

His remarks came during a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Baabda with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, who is on an official visit to Lebanon.

The meeting was also attended by Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar and a Kuwaiti delegation accompanying Sheikh Fahd.

According to an official statement from the Lebanese Presidency, President Aoun reaffirmed the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between Lebanon and Kuwait, emphasizing that these relations grow stronger each day due to their foundation of mutual respect, cooperation, and shared values.

The Lebanese leader conveyed his appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for their consistent and generous support, particularly during crises. He also recalled the positive outcomes of his official visit to Kuwait last May, which further reinforced bilateral ties.

President Aoun called Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef’s visit a valuable opportunity to strengthen joint cooperation and coordination, especially in the security sector, noting the importance of facing shared challenges and promoting regional stability.

In response, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef conveyed greetings and well wishes from His Highness the Amir to President Aoun and the Lebanese people, expressing Kuwait’s continued commitment to support Lebanon’s security, prosperity, and stability.

He emphasized the historic and fraternal nature of Kuwaiti-Lebanese relations, describing them as “deep-rooted and strategic,” and affirmed Kuwait’s dedication to enhancing cooperation across various sectors.

Highlighting the professionalism of Lebanese security services, Sheikh Fahd stressed the importance of enhanced joint security collaboration to meet regional challenges and develop a sustainable framework for long-term coordination.

The meeting also included discussions on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as practical ways to boost bilateral cooperation, including security coordination and the exchange of expertise between relevant agencies.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef arrived in Beirut on Sunday as part of an official visit during which he will hold talks with several senior Lebanese officials.
