Landslide at construction site claims two lives, safety standards under scrutiny

The Kuwait Fire Force announced the landslide that occurred this morning at a construction site in the Al-Rai area, claimed the lives of two workers.
Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, Director of Public Relations and Media at the KFF, that rescue teams, after finding one person dead, continued their intensive efforts to rescue the second trapped worker, but he too was found dead, after his body was retrieved followingthe unfortunate incident.
Al-Gharib explained that the body was handed over to the Emergency Medical Services and relevant authorities to carry out the necessary procedures, reports Al-Rai daily.
He added that fire crews and investigative teams remain on site to determine the causes of the collapse and to prevent similar incidents in future construction projects.
The incident highlights the critical importance of strict adherence to occupational safety protocols at construction sites. Al-Gharib stressed that contractors must fully comply with technical and safety standards to ensure a secure working environment and protect both workers and surrounding structures.
Firefighting teams will continue their operations until all debris is cleared and the site is deemed completely safe.
