Kuwait’s weather takes a dip with dropping temperatures

The cold front will move through, and Kuwait will be under the influence of a high-pressure system, bringing clear skies and northwesterly winds from today, Wednesday, through Friday, predicts meteorologist Issa Ramadan.

In Kuwait, southeastern winds are expected to return on Saturday evening, bringing some clouds and a chance of scattered rain on Sunday night and into early Monday, while temperatures continue to drop during this period.

Kuwait experienced an atmospheric depression accompanied by a cold front, resulting in sporadic rainfall from Tuesday through Wednesday. The rain caused reduced horizontal visibility as fog formed from evaporating rainwater, meteorologist Issa Ramadan told Al-Qabas newspaper.

Ramadan noted that the amount of rain recorded by the Meteorological Department ranged from 0.1 mm in Nuweisib to 7.1 mm in Abdali.

Regarding the weather forecast for the coming days, Ramadan predicted that the cold air front will pass, and the country will be influenced by a high-pressure system, bringing clear skies and northwesterly winds from today, Wednesday, until Friday.

Southeastern winds are expected to return on Saturday evening, accompanied by some clouds, with a chance of scattered rain on Sunday night and into early Monday. Temperatures will continue to drop during this period.

Ramadan also highlighted the emergence of new weather phenomena and a significant increase in rainfall across the Gulf region over the last twenty years.

He pointed to the intense rains witnessed in western Saudi Arabia, including Jeddah, Medina, and Mecca, caused by the formation of cumulus clouds. These heavy rains have increased overall rainfall amounts and impacted infrastructure in the Gulf region.
