Kuwait’s strategic water reserves surpass 85%, MEW confirms stability and quality

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said Kuwait’s strategic water reserves have grown by more than 85%, underscoring the country’s strong water security and the ministry’s readiness to meet both current and future demand.

Water production and distribution are proceeding smoothly without any disruptions, reports Al-Rai daily quoting MEW sources.

The ministry emphasized that all water supplied to households undergoes continuous, rigorous testing to ensure it meets international quality and safety standards. Samples are regularly collected from various parts of the network and analyzed using advanced laboratory technologies to guarantee the water is free of contaminants.

In parallel, the ministry has formed an executive committee to oversee field teams tasked with monitoring the compliance of government entities—including schools and mosques—with national energy-saving measures. These efforts aim to reduce pressure on the power grid during peak periods, especially in the summer.

Officials described rationalizing consumption as a vital solution to easing electricity overloads through simple, effective actions that help ensure uninterrupted service.

The ministry is also working to promote a culture of conservation and continues to expand electricity production using the latest global technologies to accommodate the country’s ongoing urban and developmental growth.
