Kuwait’s oil sector awards and extends contracts worth 100 million dinars

Al-Anbaa learned from responsible oil sources that the Central Agency for Public Tenders; approved three oil companies for awarding contracts, extensions and change orders worth a total of 100 million dinars.

The sources sharing further details said that the decisions came to award a tender to the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) for 81.97 million dinars.

This is a contract for supplying catalysts for the atmospheric distillation desulfurization units at Al-Zour Refinery, to one of the companies that received the lowest prices for a total amount of 81.97 million dinars.

In a similar context, the Higher Purchasing Committee for Tenders of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries announced the award of a tender to the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company worth 3.55 million dinars.

In addition, the Tender Board approved the second extension of the contract for the Jurassic production facilities in East and West Rawdatayn, West Sabriya and Umm Naqa for a period of 383 days, starting from, 30 August until 16 September 2025, for a total amount of $29.67 million.

The contract involves operation and maintenance, and an increase in the amount allocated for the Kuwaitization item by $905 thousand, and the issuance of the fifth change order with an increase of $18.65 million, and the deletion of $5.82 million, which is equivalent to 14.58% at a total cost of $43.42 million.

The Board approved by a majority of its members the second extension for a period of one year only, along with the issuance of the fifth change order, and the statement of the cause of the delay, by applying the provisions of Article 83 of the Public Tenders Law.
