Kuwait’s Medical Laboratories to be Modernised with Advance Technology
The 6th Medical Laboratories Conference for "Developments in Clinical Microbiology and Quality Control" will commence on October 21st with international participation.
The Ministry of Health announced today, the launch of the 6th Medical Laboratories Conference to be held on October 21. The conference which is entitled as “Developments in Clinical Microbiology and Quality Control” will be held under the patronage of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, with local and international participation.
Dr. Rama Al-Safi, The Director of Medical Laboratories Department at the Ministry, in a press statement said that the conference will shed light on all that is new in the specialties of quality control for medical laboratories, clinical microbiology, and methods of diagnosing and treating bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics.
She further added that the conference aims to exchange experiences among participants and strengthen communication between doctors, laboratory technicians, and other specialists in the field of medical laboratories. It will also include several scientific lectures, open dialogue discussions, and workshops that will be in addition to an exhibition on the most important developments and advancements in this field.
Dr. Rama pointed out that the conference will include workshops on developing quality control systems in medical laboratories and developments in molecular medicine laboratories, which will be in addition to workshops on information technology systems in medical laboratories. She also indicated that the conference will be attended by a group of renowned speakers and experts at the local and international levels from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Nigeria and Canada.
She further emphasized that the conference also includes scientific lectures on two tracks; the first is concerned with developments in clinical microbiology and includes lectures on rationalizing the consumption of antibiotics and microbial resistance to antibiotics and the latest developments in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases, in addition to a dialogue session on programs to rationalize the consumption of antibiotics in hospitals in the State of Kuwait.
Summarizing the details of the upcoming conference, Dr. Rama Al-Safi explained that the second track is concerned with quality control in medical laboratories and includes lectures on the latest developments in quality control systems and artificial intelligence in medical laboratories and quality control in rapid tests, as well as a dialogue session on global quality control programs such as American recognition for quality control and recognition by the International Organization for Standardization and Quality Assurance.
