Kuwait’s inflation rises 2.30% year-on-year in June 2025

Kuwait’s annual inflation rate reached 2.30% by the end of June 2025, according to data released Sunday by the Central Administration of Statistics.
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that on a monthly basis, inflation increased 0.29% compared to May.
The year-on-year increase was driven by higher prices across several key sectors, most notably food, health, clothing, and education, while transportation costs declined.
Key highlights from the report show food and beverages: up 5.11% year-on-year; cigarettes and tobacco: up 0.07%; clothing and footwear: up 3.93%; housing services: up 0.98%; home furnishings: up 3.30%; health services: up 2.94%; transportation: down 1.81%; communications: up 0.64%; entertainment and culture: up 1.92%; education: up 0.71%; restaurants and hotels: up 1.94% and miscellaneous goods and services: up 4.80%.
When excluding the food and beverages group, the inflation rate rose 1.69% year-on-year in June and 0.23% on a monthly basis.
The latest figures reflect ongoing cost pressures in essential sectors, even as some areas like transportation show a decline, offering a mixed picture of inflation trends in Kuwait.
