Kuwait to link experience and education certificates for new visas

The professions in which workers are being recruited by the Public Authority for Manpower include medical, educational, engineering, legal, accounting, finance, and other professions required by the labor market.

  • Applicants need an experience certificate specific to their profession, with three to five years’ experience, and a practice certificate approved by their country and recognized by Kuwaiti authorities as equivalent to higher education standards.

  • Applicants must pass a profession practice test and obtain a profession practice certificate from the relevant authority in Kuwait

A source at the Public Authority for Manpower disclosed to Al-Anbaa newspaper that the special committee, tasked with regulating the labor market and devising mechanisms for recruiting foreign workers in key technical professions, is nearing the finalization of specific mechanisms tailored for each profession in demand in the market.

The source stated that the professions in which workers are being recruited include medical, educational, engineering, legal, accounting, finance, and other professions required by the labor market.

The source emphasized that this mechanism applies to workers recruited from all nationalities and countries, without limitation to a specific nationality. They expect it to become operational in the near future once the mechanisms are approved by the relevant authorities.

Regarding the committee’s composition, the source confirmed the participation of all relevant parties, including governmental, technical, and specialized entities, in addition to the authority, the Ministry of Interior, specialized public benefit associations, higher education institutions, Kuwait University, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others.

Regarding the proposed mechanism, the source outlined the requirements, which include obtaining accredited and authenticated certificates from the official authorities in the issuing country and the Kuwaiti embassy.

Additionally, applicants must have an experience certificate tailored for each profession, with a minimum of three years for some professions and five for others. They also need a certificate attesting to their ability to practice the profession, approved by their country and recognized by relevant Kuwaiti authorities as equivalent to “higher education” standards in Kuwait.

Applicants must pass a profession practice test and obtain a profession practice certificate from the relevant authority in Kuwait.
