Kuwait’s construction projects aim to enhance education and meet labor market demands
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, emphasized that construction projects reflect Kuwait’s vision to enhance education quality, meet labor market needs, and support national development goals. He highlighted his commitment to overseeing the development of construction projects in higher education institutions within the framework.
This statement followed Minister Al-Jalal’s inspection visit to the construction projects at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, where he observed a visual presentation on completed projects, ongoing initiatives, and also about the future projects.
Al-Jalal stated that these projects reflect Kuwait’s commitment in developing advanced infrastructure for applied education and training. He emphasized that they embody the vision to improve the quality of education and are a crucial part of an ambitious national plan to strengthen the education sector.
Explaining further, Al-Jalal mentioned that the expansion of the Authority’s construction projects across all governorates is not merely about increasing building capacity.
It is part of a broader vision aimed at delivering education and training services to all regions, ensuring educational equity, and providing equal opportunities for citizens to access high-quality applied education and vocational training. This initiative seeks to empower Kuwaiti youth with the skills needed to become pioneers and leaders in the development process.
Adding significance to Kuwait’s initiatives, Al-Jalal added, that through this step, the country aims to achieve balanced development in line with the vision of ‘New Kuwait 2035’, which seeks to build a diversified and sustainable economy by investing in education and enhancing the efficiency of the national workforce.
Al-Jalal pointed out that the tour was intended to monitor the design and implementation of construction facilities, ensuring they adhere to the highest quality standards.
The goal is to create an integrated educational environment that meets the needs of students, providing access to modern technologies and advanced training facilities. This will enhance their skills, preparing them to compete in both local and international labor markets, while aligning with Kuwait’s aspirations to become a regional center for educational excellence.
On the other hand, Al-Jalal praised the efforts of Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, the Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, and everyone who contributed to the successful completion of these projects.
Al-Jalal emphasized his commitment to closely monitoring the implementation of these initiatives, ensuring careful planning and close cooperation with all relevant parties. He stated that these projects aim to set a benchmark in building distinguished educational institutions.
Whereas, Dr. Al-Fajjam stated that the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training has completed numerous projects across several governorates. He added that work is going on to implement and design new projects in areas such as; Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Mutlaa, Jaber Al-Ahmad, Al-Jahra, and others areas, to meet the educational needs of residents in these regions.
Al-Jalal’s inspection concluded, with a visual presentation that included completed, ongoing, and future projects. Among them were the construction of branches of the Authority’s colleges and institutes across various governorates.
Additionally, the visual presentation highlighted the progress of the construction project for classrooms and laboratories for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the College of Technological Studies, as well as the expansion of the building for the Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Technological Studies in the Technology Complex in the Shuwaikh area.
