Kuwait’s Cabinet reaffirms commitment providing adequate housing for citizens

The Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting on Tuesday morning, 11th February 2025, at Bayan Palace, chaired by His Excellency the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

After the meeting, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida Abdullah Al-Muasherji, stated that His Excellency the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, briefed the Council of Ministers on the results of his recent tour to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

During the tour, the Acting Prime Minister held meetings in Cairo with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, in Amman with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and with Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Dr. Jaafar Hassan.

In Muscat, the Acting Prime Minister met with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, and in Abu Dhabi, he met with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chief of the Presidential Court of the UAE. His meetings with counterparts from Egypt, Jordan, and Oman focused on strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, particularly security, and discussed a range of issues of common interest.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers reviewed a visual presentation submitted by His Excellency the Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Badah Al-Mutairi. The presentation, which focused on the Government Communication Center’s plan for the year 2025/2026, was presented in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Nasser Ahmed Muhaisen, along with several officials from the Ministry of Information and the Government Communication Center.

Whereas the Council of Ministers, reviewed a visual presentation submitted by the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Hamed Al-Mishari. The presentation, which focused on the Housing Welfare Sustainability Program, was presented in the presence of leaders from the Public Institution for Housing Welfare. It covered the main objectives of the program and the executive steps that have been taken to activate its sustainability initiatives.

The Council of Ministers reaffirmed its commitment to providing adequate housing for citizens and finding the best solutions and mechanisms for the sustainability of housing care.

In a separate matter, the Council expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation of the recent denouncing statements made by the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation forces against the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Council emphasized Kuwait’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia in confronting any threats to its stability and sovereignty. It also reiterated Kuwait’s rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people and praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to secure all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the borders of June 4, 1967.

Additionally, the Council of Ministers reviewed several topics on the agenda and approved them, while referring some to the relevant ministerial committees for further study and preparation of reports to complete the necessary procedures.
