Kuwaitization drive speeds up at Civil Service Council

The Council Affairs Department currently employs 14 individuals, of whom eight are non-Kuwaiti.

The Civil Service Council approved granting the annual financial bonus to members of the Legal Department of Kuwait Municipality, equal to their grades in Fatwa and Legislation, for fiscal year 2023-2024.

Sources emphasized to Al-Anbaa newspaper the urgency of expediting the Kuwaitization of the Civil Service Council’s administration. They disclosed that the Council Affairs Department currently employs 14 individuals, of whom eight are non-Kuwaiti.

Sources elaborated on the urgency of this step within the framework of the Civil Service Council’s decision system, which mandates all ministries, government agencies, and institutions to fully Kuwaitize their functional groups.

The sources continued, stating, “This includes delegating responsibilities to their nationals and appointing suitable candidates based on their skills and expertise in the relevant field.”

They emphasized that implementing this policy contributes to enhancing effectiveness and efficiency, boosting confidence in job performance, improving discipline and accountability, and reducing the risk of corruption and wasteful practices.

In a related context, the Civil Service Council approved the renewal of granting the annual financial bonus (not the monthly bonus) to members of the Legal Department of Kuwait Municipality. This bonus is equal to their grades for members of Fatwa and Legislation, for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

As per the council’s approval, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Anbaa, the annual remuneration is 18 thousand dinars for the position of director and deputy director of management. This corresponds to the position of vice president and deputy director of management in fatwa and legislation, equivalent to the excellent grade in the general salary scale.

The approval included a reward of 12,000 dinars for the position of interview advisor, equivalent to the advisor position in Fatwa and Legislation, and the interview for the Undersecretary position in the general salary scale.

For the assistant advisor position, it stipulated a reward of 8,000 dinars, corresponding to the assistant advisor position in Fatwa and Legislation, and also corresponding to the assistant undersecretary position in the general salary scale.
