Kuwaiti youth showcase talent at prestigious Kuwait Science and Engineering Fair

The 11th edition of the Kuwait Science and Engineering Fair kicked off on Sunday. Organized by the Kuwait Science Club with support from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.
The representative of the competition sponsor, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, toured the exhibition pavilions, accompanied by Chairman of the Scientific Club Talal Al-Kharafi and members of the board of directors, where he listened to a presentation by the participating students about their scientific projects.
Vice Chairperson of the Scientific Club’s Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Competition’s Supreme Committee, Sheikha Sheikha Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, emphasized that the competition, which concludes tomorrow, is a comprehensive national project aimed at nurturing a new generation of creative individuals in scientific research and innovation.
She noted that support from the public and private sectors, along with civil society, has contributed to the sustainability of the competition since its inception, granting it the confidence of the scientific community and qualifying it to represent Kuwait in international forums.
She commended the exceptional efforts made by professors and specialists from various scientific fields in supporting the participating students, stressing that their continued presence since the competition’s launch reflects their dedication to their national role and lends the competition scientific credibility in evaluating projects and selecting the best among them.
Asrar Al-Ansari, board member and vice-chair of the committee, noted the fair includes 22 scientific fields, including underrepresented areas like social and behavioral sciences, demonstrating the club’s commitment to diversity and student empowerment. She encouraged all intermediate and secondary students to join and share their innovations.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Saffar, Head of Development Programs at the Club, said the fair fosters a research culture among school students, offering a platform for discovering talent and building scientific competencies. He acknowledged the support of Kuwait University, PAAET, KISR, and especially KFAS for promoting science and backing student researchers.
