Kuwaiti unity during invasion was a beacon of steadfastness and truth: Al-Sumait

On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Minister of Justice Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait affirmed that the profound unity between the Kuwaiti people and their legitimate leadership remains one of the most powerful examples of national resilience and adherence to justice.

In remarks to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday, Al-Sumait said, “We remember with deep appreciation and reverence the sacrifices of the martyrs and the heroes of the resistance. The solidarity between the Kuwaiti people and their leadership during those dark days wrote one of the noblest chapters of steadfastness and commitment to the truth.”

He added, “At that pivotal moment in our history, Kuwaitis proved that their unity and unwavering belief in the justice of their cause were the nation’s true shield—leading it from adversity to triumph.”

As the nation marks this solemn occasion, Al-Sumait offered prayers for the souls of the righteous martyrs and renewed the pledge of loyalty to the country’s leadership—His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

He concluded with a prayer for Kuwait’s continued security, stability, and prosperity, emphasizing that the legacy of sacrifice and unity will always be remembered and honored.
