Kuwaiti media shines bright at 16th Gulf Radio and Television Festival

Kuwait’s media dominated the awards ceremony in Bahrain, securing a record-breaking 12 awards across various categories. This achievement marks their most successful participation in the festival's history.

The victory reflects the high level of creativity, innovation, and culture among Kuwaiti youth who have reached crowning platforms that reflect these great efforts, said Adel Al-Mush’aan, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and the Assistant Undersecretary for the Media Planning and Knowledge Development sector.

Kuwaiti media is celebrating a triumphant performance at the 16th Gulf Radio and Television Festival and the Dana Drama Award ceremony, which recently concluded in Bahrain.

Adel Al-Mush’aan, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and the Assistant Undersecretary for the Media Planning and Knowledge Development sector, expressed his pride in the achievements.

The victory of Kuwait Television and Radio in the awards is an extension of the previous successes of Kuwaiti creators, Al-Mush’aan said. He highlighted that this win aligns with the ministry’s 2021-2026 strategy, which emphasizes supporting creative talent.

After receiving the delegation participating in the festival, he said that this victory reflects the attention paid by the ministry’s leaders to supporting the creative and the diligent. This support involves giving them the opportunity to work, achieve, and provide their best through high-quality productions at the intellectual, artistic, and cultural levels.

Al-Mushaan praised the dedication and innovation of Kuwaiti youth in the media industry. This victory reflects the high level of creativity, innovation, and culture among Kuwaiti youth, he said, who have reached crowning platforms that reflect these great efforts. He conveyed the congratulations of Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture, to the winners and expressed his hope for their continued success.

Kuwait’s record-breaking performance

Kuwait’s media swept the awards ceremony, winning a record-breaking 12 awards across various categories. This marks their most successful participation in the festival’s history.

The event, held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad of Bahrain, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in Bahrain, brought together Arab information ministers, media specialists, and industry professionals.

Its worth noting that the very first Gulf Radio and Television Festival was held in Kuwait in 1980.
