Kuwaiti man put behind bars for three years, fined 5,000 dinars
. . . caught violating public morals on his Snapchat account

The Criminal Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to three years in prison with hard labor and fined him 5,000 dinars for violating public morals and inciting debauchery through videos posted on his Snapchat account.
The conviction came after confidential investigations by the Interior Ministry’s Cybercrime Department, found the man was engaging in “immoral acts” and used his social media account to promote deviant behavior, the Gulf News reports.
During the court hearing, prosecutors presented recordings and electronic correspondence as evidence, which the court accepted as proof of his intent and actions.
The Cybercrime Department described the posts as a “blatant violation of societal values” and a “serious breach of the law,” calling for a strict penalty to deter similar offenses and protect the country’s moral standards.
The defendant’s name was not disclosed, and he retains the right to appeal the verdict.
