Kuwaiti man busted for claiming 36 children — only 16 are his

As part of Kuwait’s ongoing campaign to purge forged citizenship records, the concerned authorities have concluded investigations into a notorious case involving a man who registered 36 children under his citizenship file — despite admitting in 2016 that only 16 of them were biologically his.

The Al-Rai daily had reported on the case in February, noting that two of the alleged children had already had their citizenship revoked as part of a broader investigation that affected 120 individuals.

According to the sources, the Supreme Committee overseeing these investigations is working file by file, relying heavily on scientific and genetic evidence, rather than assumptions or undocumented claims. “Each case is backed by DNA results before any action is taken,” the sources said, adding that any completed file is presented for legal measures, including revocation of citizenship where warranted.

The depth of the forgery was further exposed when investigators found that one of the man’s alleged sons, now 20 years old, had added a non-biological child to his own dependency file. This younger individual had previously fled Kuwait, only to be later sentenced to seven years in prison for forgery.

The case, according to the investigation, began with an individual who obtained Kuwaiti citizenship fraudulently, claiming lineage that was not his. He then continued the deception by adding another fake son to his official file — extending the web of forged identities.

One particularly disturbing finding was that a so-called “son” born in 1953 had a file linked to 86 individuals, a figure authorities say clearly indicates additional layers of forgery and false familial registrations. “It is unlikely that all of them are his biological children,” the sources stated, emphasizing the need to continue verifying each case scientifically until the truth is fully exposed.

The case adds to the growing list of forged citizenships uncovered by the authorities, who are determined to protect the integrity of Kuwaiti nationality and ensure that only rightful citizens enjoy the rights and privileges it confers.
