Kuwaiti-Jordanian military leaders explore enhanced defense collaboration

Brigadier General Sheikh Khalifa Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of Staff for Armament and Equipment of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, met with Major General Yousef Al-Hunaiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, to discuss avenues for enhanced cooperation in defense industries and to strengthen the strategic military partnership between the two brotherly nations.

The meeting, held in Amman, reflected the shared commitment to advancing bilateral military ties under the guidance of His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the talks, Brigadier General Sheikh Khalifa Al-Sabah praised the enduring strength of Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations and underscored the mutual aspirations to deepen defense collaboration across various domains.

He commended the Jordanian Armed Forces for their remarkable strides in modernization and capacity-building, particularly in the areas of armament and equipment, emphasizing the importance of bolstering the strategic partnership between the two military institutions.

As part of his visit, Brigadier General Al-Sabah announced that he would tour the Jadara Center for Defense Equipment and Systems to observe developments in drone manufacturing, as well as attend a live-fire exercise at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center.

The high-level meeting was attended by senior Jordanian military officials and Kuwait’s Military Attaché in Amman, Brigadier General Pilot Mohammed Al-Ayadah.
