Kuwaiti gets 15 years for joining ISIS, financing terrorism

The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Abdul Wahab Al-Maili, sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to 15 years in prison with hard labor in a state security case for his affiliation to the terrorist organization ISIS.
The court found the convict guilty of joining the banned group, fighting alongside ISIS combatants, and providing them with financial support, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the case records, investigations by a State Security officer confirmed that the suspect had participated in activities threatening Kuwait’s internal security and maintained ties with a prohibited organization in direct violation of national laws protecting public order.
Security services had closely monitored the movements of the accused and interactions with members of the terrorist group. The surveillance operation was conducted under the supervision of competent authorities.
Following extensive monitoring and investigation, the accused was referred to the Public Prosecution, which formally charged him with endangering national security and supporting a banned terrorist entity.
