Kuwaiti doctor jailed for five years, fined KD 1 million for salary fraud
The doctor, employed at a Ministry of Health hospital, was absent for 15 years, had his services terminated, and unlawfully received salaries.

• The Criminal Court ordered the Kuwaiti doctor to repay his salaries and imposed a fine double the amount for his absence from work and unjustly receiving salaries.
The Criminal Court upheld its in-absentia ruling, sentencing a Kuwaiti doctor employed at a government hospital to five years in prison with hard labor, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
The court also ordered him to repay his salaries and imposed a fine double the amount, totaling one million dinars, for his absence from work and unjustly receiving salaries.
The court that issued the ruling in absentia stated that “It was found through the documents that the doctor, who works at a hospital affiliated with the Ministry of Health, had been absent from work for fifteen years, his services were terminated, and it was discovered that he had received salaries without justification.”
