Kuwaiti diwaniya represents a genuine social value and embodies Gulf brotherhood: Bahrain envoy

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Salah Ali Hasan Hilal Al-Malki, says the diwaniya in Kuwaiti society represents a genuine social value and serves as a place for friendly conversations, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, and exchanging visits.
He noted that this distinctive tradition is almost exclusive to the Gulf region and is rarely found with the same richness elsewhere in the world.

He was speaking at a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain at its diwaniya a couple of days ago.
Ambassador Al-Malki said he is honored to meet the guests at his diwaniya. He said, “We are proud to occasionally host our brothers and friends from Kuwait, including sheikhs, dignitaries, friends, media representatives, as well as members of the diplomatic corps.”

Al-Malki added that such gatherings reflect the deep fraternal relations between Bahrain and Kuwait and highlight the spirit of love and goodwill uniting the two brotherly peoples.
He affirmed that the diwaniya remains a symbol of human and social interaction that reflects the Kuwaiti society’s values of openness, generosity, and hospitality.

The ambassador stressed that the Bahraini–Kuwaiti relations are not limited to official channels but also extend to popular, social, and cultural ties.
He considered these friendly gatherings in diwaniyas a natural continuation of the understanding, harmony, and shared vision between the leaderships of the two countries toward a brighter future for the region.
He also affirmed that the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain always ensures its diwaniya is open to everyone, reflecting ongoing communication and commitment to strengthening relations between the two peoples.
He noted that such occasions help deepen understanding and open wider opportunities for cooperation across various fields.
